The First Step in Counselling and Psychotherapy
We will initially talk on the phone and arrange a time and day for you to visit my practice for a 50-minute initial assessment. In the assessment, we will spend time discussing why you wish to be in therapy or counselling, your expectations of treatment, whether you have been in therapy before and a more general conversation about your life history. It is hoped that from this will come a good understanding of your struggles and a solid sense of whether we will work well together. If this is the case, we will arrange a regular weekly appointment at the same time and day in the week during which we will explore and work on your on-going difficulties. I work on a weekly basis as a minimum but often in my experience, attending twice or even three times a week can enable to therapy to build momentum creating deeper more lasting change more quickly.
I hold the values of inclusion, respect of difference and confidentiality at the heart of my psychotherapy practice.
How to get here
I am very easy to reach on public transport. I live a short walk from Walthamstow Central and Walthamstow Queens Rd stations which offer fast, frequent links on the Underground, Overground and National Rail networks in addition to an excellent bus network in and out of Central London.
